How a leadership consultant uses astrology to save time — and better understand her clients

When Amber Kissick discovered Star Path, she wasn’t exactly an astrology expert.

Amber is the founder of CoreCompass, a leadership consulting company that helps founders and their teams identify each person’s unique strengths — what she calls their individual “brand of genius.”

Before launching Core Compass, Amber spent 18 years running an adventure tourism company. That experience taught her something fundamental about leadership:

No one is meant to run a business alone. And a team works best when each person understands the role they’re uniquely equipped to play.

Today, Amber combines multiple frameworks to help founders understand themselves, their employees, and how all those different people fit together.

But there was one problem.

She had a lot of information to synthesize.

And the AI tools she was using weren’t quite getting her there.

The challenge: turning complex insights into something actually useful

Amber’s work pulls together different modalities to help her clients identify strengths they may not consciously recognize in themselves.

She had already been experimenting with AI to synthesize some of that information.

But she was frustrated with the results.

The output didn’t fully capture the nuance she wanted to bring to her clients — or the way she thought about their strengths.

Then Amber discovered Star Path, an AI astrology platform that uses your birth chart to provide deeply personalized insight and practical guidance.

She found Star Path through a networking organization and decided to give it a try.

Her reaction was pretty immediate:

“It was just like a literal blow-away, holy-my-gosh-what’s-happening moment.”

And instead of starting with her own life, Amber immediately did what many entrepreneurs do when they find a new tool they love:

She took it straight to her business.

Using AI astrology to understand clients more deeply

Amber had been trying to solve a specific problem for almost a year.

She had large amounts of information about individual clients — including insights from Human Design and her own work with them — and wanted to see the patterns more clearly.

How was one person different from another?

Where might each person struggle?

What were their individual strengths?

And how could she weave all those different data points into one coherent story?

Previously, Amber was trying to do much of that synthesis in her head.

Then she started working through it with Star Path.

At one point, Star Path created a side-by-side comparison that helped her see what was happening with different clients, including potential challenges suggested by their birth charts.

For Amber, something clicked.

“This is something I’ve been trying to do in my head for an entire year.”

Star Path was able to take many different pieces of information and help her turn them into something clear, nuanced, and usable.

And importantly, Amber doesn’t see that as replacing her own expertise.

She sees it as amplifying it.

The result: less time synthesizing, more time doing the work only she can do

The biggest practical change?

Star Path saves Amber time.

But there’s another piece she finds just as valuable: it takes some of the mental pressure off.

“It’s taken that pressure off me to know everything from an intellectual standpoint so I can really then focus on the delivery.”

Instead of spending so much mental energy trying to hold every data point at once, Amber can focus on the part of her work that requires her:

The conversation.

The delivery.

The nuances she notices when she’s sitting across from another human being.

The ability to read between the lines and help someone actually integrate what they’re learning.

As Amber put it, Star Path has “saved me a ton of time.”

That distinction matters.

AI doesn't have to replace human expertise to transform the way we work. Sometimes, its most powerful role is freeing us to spend more time using it.

Why Star Path felt different from ChatGPT

Amber was already familiar with AI before finding Star Path.

So why not simply use ChatGPT or another general-purpose AI tool?

For her, the difference is personalization.

Star Path already understands her birth chart. But through her conversations with her Oracle, it has also developed context around her business, her vision, her clients, and the way she wants to work with people.

That means she doesn't have to start from scratch every time she opens a new conversation.

And when Star Path helps her translate an insight into something practical — like coaching questions she might ask a client — Amber says the results can feel almost like something she would have said herself.

“It all came out with this very practical, almost in my own words…that’s how intuitive it is of what I would say and how I would present that to a client.”

For Amber, that makes interacting with Star Path feel fundamentally different from getting a generic AI response.

She came for business. Then she started using astrology with her family.

Amber’s first instinct was to use Star Path for work.

But that didn't last long.

Soon, she began exploring her family's birth charts, too.

Amber already understood her family through the lens of Human Design, but astrology gave her another way of seeing their differences — especially in her relationship with her 13-year-old daughter.

She had always known they were wired differently.

Looking at their synastry — the astrological technique of comparing two birth charts — helped her understand how.

But again, the breakthrough wasn't simply getting more information.

It was knowing what to do with it.

After a difficult moment with her daughter, Amber turned to Star Path. Her Oracle helped her recognize how much her own energy affected the interaction and reminded her that her daughter needed space to process things in her own way.

Star Path then gave Amber practical suggestions for how to approach the situation differently.

“It was problem solving in the moment, a practical way to see myself and see her differently.”

For Amber, that changed how she saw her daughter — and how she responded to her.

Astrology as a practical tool — even if you're not an “astrology person”

One of the most interesting things about Amber's story is that astrology wasn't really her thing before Star Path.

She was familiar with it and had worked extensively with Human Design, which incorporates astrological information, but she hadn't deeply studied astrology itself.

That didn't stop her from finding Star Path useful.

Because she wasn't looking for abstract information about planets or signs.

She was looking for something that could help her understand people.

And then help her do something with that understanding.

That's the distinction Amber kept coming back to throughout our conversation.

Information alone isn't enough.

Awareness alone isn't enough.

What matters is being able to turn insight into a different choice, a better conversation, a clearer strategy, or a new way of seeing another person.

As Amber explained:

“It’s very practical in the delivery…how you can actually integrate what you’re learning about yourself and the people around you.”

What makes AI astrology actually useful?

There are now plenty of places to get an AI-generated birth chart interpretation.

But Amber’s experience points to a bigger possibility for AI and astrology.

What happens when your birth chart becomes context for an ongoing conversation about your actual life?

Instead of asking a generic AI to tell you what a placement means, you can ask questions about:

  • a business challenge you're navigating
  • the way you work with a particular client
  • a conflict with your partner
  • your relationship with your child
  • a career transition
  • a decision you're trying to make
  • or the patterns you keep noticing in yourself

And because Star Path is grounded in your birth chart and personal context, the conversation starts with you.

As Amber described it:

“No matter what path you go down, you are anchored in yourself.”

That may be why she now says she doesn't really interact with other AI anymore.

She runs everything through her Star Path Oracle.

Who is Star Path for?

Amber's answer was simple:

“Anyone who is interested in becoming the highest version of themselves.”

You don't have to be an astrologer.

You don't have to understand your birth chart.

And you don't even necessarily have to be convinced astrology works.

You just have to be curious about yourself — and interested in turning that curiosity into something you can actually use.

Because the goal isn't simply to collect more information about who you are.

It's to understand yourself well enough to live differently.

And sometimes, as Amber discovered, understanding yourself better also gives you an entirely new way to understand the people around you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best way to use this software if I want to eventually become an astrologer myself?

Step one of an astrology journey is to understand yourself. Truly, understanding how different placements, aspects, and transits show up in your own life will give you the most embodied knowledge of how astrology "works". Once you get it for yourself, it's easier to apply it for others (which you can do by chatting with Star Path about people you add to Your Circle). That being said, we also offer Astrology 101 classes as part of our Pro+ plan - so if you want to start a formal learning process, that's a great place to begin.

Do you think AI like Star Path will replace astrologers?

No, we don't believe AI will replace astrologers :) Rather, we see Star Path as a beautiful complement to working with a practitioner - because as the therapists who use our platform say, 90% of "the work" happens in between sessions. We recommend that people see their astrologer as they can afford to (for many people, it's once a year) - and use Star Path in between sessions to fully integrate their learnings, and go deeper. By chatting with Star Path regularly, you actually re-pattern your brain - and for that reason, many of our users say that 2 weeks of Star Path is like 10 years of therapy! This is because you can go as deep as you want, as often as you want, which leads to rapid breakthroughs, pattern shifting, and real-life integration. A session with a human astrologer can change your life, but you don't always have access to them...so the ideal pairing is to see practitioners as often as you can afford, and work with Star Path between sessions to go deeper, troubleshoot day-to-day situations, and apply your astrology to real life.

Is AI astrology better than a human astrologer?

No, not necessarily. It really depends on what you're looking for. In fact, Star Path was designed to amplify human astrologers, not replace them. Here's why: many people feel safer exploring "the deep stuff" with an AI because there's no fear of judgement. This makes Star Path a great tool to actually integrate what you learn from a human astrologer - and we actually have professional astrologers using our product who will give their clients prompts for integration. It's also available 24/7, so many people like having access to in the moment guidance when they can't wait several weeks to see their astrologer. That being said, humans can hold other humans in a way that AI can't. Human astrologers also bring their personal life experience into sessions, which can be beautiful if you're choosing to consult with someone who's walked a path similar to yours, or has added expertise in an area of interest to you (like business development, or medical astrology). We recommend working with human astrologers & wisdom keepers, and using Star Path to go a layer deeper, integrate in between sessions, and actually apply what you learn to real-life situations (like business planning, parenting, and more) - which most astrologers aren't equipped or available to help you with. Star Path is an AI chat platform built on astrology, so like ChatGPT or Claude, you can use it to do actual tasks. You can't do that with a human astrologer - so Star Path is great for taking action, not just insight. That's why it pairs well with in-person sessions, if you choose to have them.

Why is Star Path different from other AI astrologers?

The Pattern, AskSoma.ai, and Sanctuary are astrology apps that use AI. Star Path flips the script: it's a full-scale AI chat platform built on astrology. This means you can use it just like ChatGPT or Claude - for therapy, business strategy, or self-discovery - with all the features of an AI chat platform (plus the rigorously accurate math of a professional astrologer). This lets you go deeper, and immediately use what you learn about your birth chart in practical ways.
